I don’t care about running a great business and making a ton of money. I care about the business of being great—producing the highest quality work product that I can, winning cases, and earning the trust, respect, and friendship of my clients.” - Stefan Staloff

Born in Princeton, New Jersey, Stefan moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 1998, and attended the Kentucky Country Day School. He thereafter attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he majored in Philosophy and was a Dean’s List Student.

After graduating from Emory University in 2011, Stefan took a gap year and lived on a kibbutz in Rehovot, Israel. He then attended the University of Kentucky College of Law, and obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2015. While at the University of Kentucky College of Law, Stefan twice competed on the law school’s Intrastate Mock Trial Team, and he was awarded the school’s Outstanding Advocate Award for his efforts.

After graduating from law school, Stefan worked as a consultant for a publicly-traded Japanese BPO company, Bellsystem24, Inc. As part of his work at Bellsystem24, Stefan lived and worked in Sapporo, Tokyo, Okinawa, and Hanoi.

Upon returning to the United States, Stefan briefly worked for a think-tank in Washington D.C. before deciding that it was time to become a licensed attorney. In 2017—more two years after graduating from law school—Stefan moved to Los Angeles and passed the California Bar Exam on his first attempt. He then worked for several months in a litigation position that required him to be a “court rat” and make multiple court appearances everyday across Los Angeles. However, during his time in Los Angeles, Stefan yearned to return home to Louisville.

In 2018, Stefan finally returned home to Louisville. He passed the Kentucky Bar Exam and was hired as an Associate Attorney at Lynch, Cox, Gilman & Goodman P.S.C. During his time at Lynch, Cox, Gilman & Goodman, Stefan litigated a diverse array of complex civil cases under the tutelage of Messers. Donald L. Cox and John D. Cox, two of Louisville’s preeminent civil litigators.

In 2024, Stefan worked for six months at a Louisville insurance defense firm before deciding to open his own solo practice, Stefan Staloff PLLC. Stefan Staloff PLLC is based out of Stefan’s home. The firm has minimal overhead, thus enabling the firm to offer clients high quality legal services at a uniquely affordable cost.

In his free time, Stefan enjoys weightlifting, following domestic and international news, and watching UFC events.
